wood could enter unseen?
@PodunkPotato not all splinters are wood. it is apparently gone after much scraping. weird. i didn't see anything at any point.
Sounds like fiberglass or some shit, I was about to reccomment that black tar stuff.

@PodunkPotato just have no clue where i'd encounter that. I was cutting off some aged elastic from a nikon camera bag.
