@vitalis Assistance in the liturgy in the priestly sense is reserved to men for all the reasons laid out by the Saints over the course of 2000 years starting in Scripture and fully expressed in the liturgical actions. Most especially that only men could possible act "In Persona Christi". To even hint at the idea that this could be accomplished by a female is not only a terrible abuse of Charity it is arguably a gross violation of at least the 9th commandment.
This has only become a thing since the introduction of feminism and the break down of the traditional order not just in the life of the Church but the world in general. Priestly and women religious vocations are in the toilet everywhere EXCEPT in traditional orders which maintain the strict separation of duties. The Norbertines, FSSP, ICKSP and SSPX orders, among others, both priestly and women religious are bursting at the seams in their seminaries and convents.
Nothing has improved since the introduction of females to liturgical functions. One can argue the life of the Church and spiritual nourishment of the people has degraded and suffered tremendously since. Now I do not argue this is BECAUSE of female inclusion, that is simply a symptom of a greater sickness. Rather the institutional Church is bearing out the age old maxim "As goes the Church, so goes the world." The introduction of "altar girls" was seen by those who promoted it as a path toward women priests and was only made possible after the promulgation and rigid, almost cheka-style enforcement of the liturgy of Paul VI.
