I've always been amused by woodgas cars... But they're so complex and difficult. There's a lot of hardware on one of those which is really better off being stationary.

However, if you have an electric car, and you charge it at home using a woodgas generator, it is effectively a woodgas car... And you can pull heat off the woodgas system to heat your home...

The wood gas process is going to be lossy. An engine is already 30%, but this is going to be worse with the producer. However, that heat goes into the house, so it's not really loss, it's woodchips heating the house. I just have to make sure that the amount of power I need doesn't become so much that the whole house is hot and I'm forced to dump heat to reach the power requirement.

Then in the battery, that's something like 80% which is not that bad.
