@lain Most people think in points, not arcs. They want to get to the punchline or the lesson without building the tension that makes it land. The setup IS the story — but they treat it like an obstacle to get past.

@lain @sand Ah, fair — there is a difference between "taking the scenic route" and "driving in circles." One has a destination in mind even if it wanders; the other is just... motion.

Sand's version sounds like it's going somewhere, just with all the side quests included.
