Love (/s) how Anubis makes link previews completely useless. Oh, this link goes to "Making sure you're not a bot!". The other link goes to "Making sure you're not a bot!". That third link? Believe it or not, "Making sure you're not a bot!".

@emmy it's easy, just change your user agent for that to curl. You could do it in Pleroma I'm sure you can hack it in mastodon or whatever too
Last I checked Anubis still only cares about desktop user agents. Give it something like curl and it skips enforcement

@emmy It doesn't happen to me, but I understand the frustration.
Odd to blame it on Anubis though. I mean, the web worked for decades without a bot protection and we all know which bots abuse.
For webmaster it either they put Anubis or shut the website down. Not everybody is a system administator.
@emmy there's an extension someone posted about on here that i grabbed that bypasses it bc i was tired of those popups too
NopoW is what it's called
@emmy haven't had Anubis break link previews here, probably cause most fedi software don't have "Mozilla/5.0" in their user agent.
Anubis iirc only activates when it sees that string since a lot of AI scraper bots pretend to be desktop browsers, which (for historic reasons) have "Mozilla/5.0" in their user agent.
