I am really fascinated to see how the FOSS world evolves with this kind of perspective being overwhelmingly dominant in their leadership. The current "world order" in the scene selects people who have infinite free time, infinite autism and very, very bad ideas.

Objectively correct answer: You don't talk about it at all, ever, in the history of human civilization.
Subjectively correct answer: Freetard internet will splinter into a) Linux*-adjacent people who tolerate it neutrally, b) Orange Reddit-adjacent people who push it on purpose, and c) Drew-adjacent people who reject it on purpose
(*: THE KERNEL YOU FUCKING IDIOTS)
Devilish answer: Use generative ai on purpose to get all the weirdos to self-select the fuck away from you.

@idiot >Drew-adjacent people who reject it on purpose
that part's very important. The main thing I want to see is people like that toppled. Their current claim to power is having infinite free time because they are socially maladjusted psychos. The moment the playing field is leveled and other projects start catching up they lose the ability to boss people around and ruin lives for fun.

@RustyCrab I was thinking about that after I posted it. Wouldn't it be nice if this all gets good enough that you can write bespoke artisanal libraries or kernels to excise all the shit you don't like about the software you use like a bad demon? Instead of having a Jia Tan moment, you can just get help from the friendly text prompt in your web browser. Unfortunately that gives a small group of companies immense power, but I guess they're going to do that regardless and we're all just along for the ride.

@idiot people get extremely offended when I say it, but once you're experienced enough in programming, most if it is just meaningless toil. "look up this API shit" here "try to resolve obscure protocol error" there "spend 6 hours trying to decipher entirely unhelpful error message" etc.
Web search has been broken for a decade and getting human help is nigh impossible ever since it all moved to gated off communities in discord and you have to pledge allegiance to Karl Marx and Hezbollah to comply to their terms of service.
Besides the obvious economic disruptions, I don't understand how people are unhappy with a shakeup. It's hard to imagine the previous and current situation being much worse.

@RustyCrab @idiot "why doesn't this work in vite" I don't know, I don't give a fuck, I am never learning your shitty build system. AI figures out the problem in 30 seconds. I am productive instead of wasting time on your SHITTY BUILD SYSTEM
