Yes and no. Russia considers Iran useful, but they also make deals with Israel all day.

Russia is one of those pure geopolitical actors that has literally no alliances, and they just play the game to win it.

Right now, backing Iran is super good for them, because getting the US entangled in the middle east will allow them to finish off UA with no serious resistance.
