I dunno. What I'm talking about is for example my VPN, or Steam. Most of my games on Steam are Windows only and if I switch to Linux I can no longer play them. Is there a Linux version of Brave? I need to know these things. Also, is there an icon driven shell similar to Windows or am I blasted back to DOS style command prompts?

@Dagnar yes all of these things work on linux. VPNs have linux versions usually and Steam is the reason why most games work on linux now. Enter any game on protondb.com and see for yourself. Brave has a linux version, as does any browser, even Microsoft Edge. Also interfaces vary but you can choose from MacOS-like ones like Gnome to Windows like ones like KDE Plasma (Win 7) or Cinnamon (XP). Nothing you listed is an obstacle. You just need to do a bit of reading or at least watch 1 youtube video on desktop linux to get a better picture.
