You may, probably, be right. But it doesn't have to necessarily be a ploy, bad times, bad situations, reflect themselves in every facet of human expression.

If this is genuine, then it merely goes off to show the grim depths to which US culture, has sunk to, and by extension dragging the whole of western culture with it.

Both churches have different saints and I'm sure the patriarchs also have non recognised saints. Yesterday the church celebrated the day of Saint Blaise.
