chyaaat i ran out of hot water
this doesn't usually happen and my shower was no longer than usual, and the water heater was working fine
the only unusual thing was a shitload of condensation on the cold water pipe before it meets the hot water recirc pipe and enters the water heater
i suspect the city switched to a cooler water source but i don't have a thermometer on that water line

@skylar Electric or gas fueled? If electric its possible that one of the heating elements is bad/overload tripped.

but the fire seems happy inside its little fire window

@skylar @DemonSixOne the advantage of the electric shower head, you will always get hot water even if the mains are pumping water straight from alaska, safe and effective just remember to install it well grounded.

@skylar @EdBoatConnoisseur fun story about that, i had a ground impedance thing a while back and it turned out to be because someone had repaired a pinhole leak in some copper with pex A and sharkbites.

i'm not sure sharkbites are even that bad, people just mash them onto fucked up pipes and destroy the o-rings

@skylar @DemonSixOne @EdBoatConnoisseur in the spring I'm going to take my outer door off and mating press some blind rivets into it because i had so many of these niggas at my house in the summer and fall they literally wore out the original mount for the pneumatic closer and it fell off entirely. I've fixed it temporarily but I'm going to replace the entire mech in the spring because it wasn't proper when I got here

@graf @skylar @EdBoatConnoisseur Rivnuts are the way to go on that and its what the manufacturer should have used in the first place but we all suffer from cheap niggerspic shit in residential construction.

maybe two of those into like a long ass 1/8" aluminum bar stock
but then regular rivets to the rest of the door

@skylar @EdBoatConnoisseur @graf it just needs two 5/16-18 UNC rivnuts, the only thing it has to hold is a closer spring that is mostly shear force.

@DemonSixOne @skylar @EdBoatConnoisseur It hasn't flexed with two standard nuts. We drove the one into it in the summer but I put a second one in when that broke out and it's sturdy for now

@DemonSixOne @skylar @EdBoatConnoisseur oh I forgot to tell you, I have a full panel screen insert for it so next time you come I'll have that in the door so we can leave the front door open instead of using AC for a lot of spring or fall. Totally forgot about it because of so much shit going on. It's full size too, replace the like 6' long glass with one piece screen

@graf @ForbiddenDreamer @skylar @EdBoatConnoisseur The bag I bought with me is my "okay we're going camping in 30 second from now" bag, so its full of crazy tech items like sleeping mats and bags that pack down to the size of a softball, i think i even had a full 1-man tent packed down in the bottom of the main compartment.
