@coolboymew @quad 16gb isn't enough if you want to play factorio and have a web browser open in the background (or just play factorio with a big enough mod like space exploration). i have no idea how windows users live, it must be a lot worse over there
someone should do a vintage coomer edit, but with a moonitorer
@cassidyclown this type of thing
@Terry kurds causing problems for the entire region despite being bombed by everyone for 35 years is a good example of why wars in the middle east don’t end in a weekend
youtubes is suddenly recommending me videos about ABC conjecture. I thought the proof was shown to be incorrect a few months after it was first released - it involves several thick books on a new brach of math (interuniversal techmuller theory? I don’t remember) that one man spent 20 years developing alone, but anyone trying to read it finds a logical error within the first chapter, so the overall consensus is not even “needs more time in the oven” but “your foundations are wrong, what the fuck are we even doing here?”
I remember the author saying “this paper is only for experts, and non experts shouldn’t read it”, but he is literally the only person in the world who even knew about his branch of math.
Apparently one university in Japan maintains that the proof is correct, because he is one of the senior professors there. Also, while he dismisses those who prove him wrong, he got pissed off at the only guy who thinks his theory is correct, just needs minor improvements, in the “how dare you say you understand my math better than I do?” way. Bizarre behavior, but also kinda understandable, considering that he was a math prodigy who wasted his life and has nothing to show for it, aside from one theory which turned out to be basically just nonsense.

how soon do you think the grapheneos guy will turn on motorola and call them bad faith actors?
@pernia he is literally schizophrenic, he may may melt down if they ask him to change any minor detail
@kaia have you watched kare kano?
don’t forget that the first chatbot - eliza - did nothing but rephrase user’s statements as questions and still tricked a lot of people into thinking they were talking to a human
@phnt
>minetest has sound!
kinda weird to be proud of that in 2026, but i’m glad they finally figured it out

@phnt i’m going to guess you’re using an ssd, because on hdd it’s tens of seconds for a few hundred files. other file pickers can enumerate thousands of files within a few frames (some within a single frame), and they also have previews, there’s literally no excuse for gnu software being so shit.
@PurpCat @RustyCrab i think ubuntu can update without requiring the root password, however
the first time i installed ubuntu, it self destructed in 2 months
the second time i installed ubuntu, i wanted to know how to move or hide the taskbar and was told to go fuck myself
the third time i installed ubuntu, it somehow fucked up the uefi partition during installation

@RustyCrab apparently not, that’s why their shit still works
@RustyCrab most open source people, and especially gnutards, seem to support gatekeeping by means of writing unusable software
