When these were originally written, they were considered fairly standard.

I grew up on "Beatrix Potter" and I'm pretty firmly convinced its antisemitic. The only question is, was it deliberately sneaking stuff past the filter, or was it "accidentally antisemitic" in the same way JK Rowling's goblins are, e.g. "You weren't noticing kikes, but your brain was".

He's been in the news recently, and Roald Dahl (PBUH) was also like this. In fact, he was so widely accused of being covertly or accidentally antisemitic (even before he said anything against zionism) that my parents banned him from the house.

I didn't find out the full reasoning until I was already an adult.

I read a shitload of Redwall and Animorphs.

I could write literally a thesis on how both are a great way to end up with a fascist firstborn son, btw.

Animorphs was a fun read when I was a kid too and I definitely agree with it causing its reading to become fascists given how based and schizo-pilled it was at times.

I like the idea that someone thought "let's rewrite Red Dawn as children's books but we'll write the villains to be body snatching alien worms who control the media and poison the food supply".
