Today I texted my landlord to see if he has a device to check the actual levels. He did not, but the gas company came and they detected it was a legitimate concern.
Anyways, at least it is a sunny day! βοΈ

19Is it next to your hot water tank?
she tankin my water til it hot
Most important part is the batteries for sure. I had one go off in the night. I went back to sleep and my girl called 911. I woke back up to being evacuated and told if the detector didn't go off, I wouldn't have ever woke up. Kids had carbon monoxide in their blood at the hospital. You did the right thing. Enjoy the sun and be safe.
it is in the hallway, my hot water heater is electric, my boiler is natural gas
Glad you have an alarm.
There should be a hood on the boiler that carries away the fumes. Did they test that it was working as expected?
it is an original 1960s boiler that hasn't been cleaned, my landlord is cleaning it now
it was very dirty and old, landlord is cleaning it now
Hooray for CO detectors, then!
Glad you can get it fixed, thatβs no joke. π³
He called HVAC, HVAC still has the final say in turning it back on.
he just wanted to clean himself to see if it is possible to keep it.
