@Twoinchdestroya @graf @reallyangry @PodunkPotato @matty @monsignor_dickface @SmidgePierce Tallow's primary job as an oil (at temperature) with wood is to replace the water that would normally swell the fibers, to prevent cracking. It's oily nature also repells water, and since it's 'dry' - prevents deterioration from bacteria and fungi.

The beeswax is a wax and the molecules are too big to enter the cells, so it acts primarily as a moisture barrier.
@Twoinchdestroya Thanks! I am really hoping it will rain this weekend because I really do not have a good way to water the rest of the paddock right now. Irrigation will probably be the #1 challenge. At least it's popping up in the area I put extra attention in. I brought in 20 tons of topsoil mulch mix for the 'back yard' area for the kids to play in.
@graf Pleroma could have been so much more elegant without the mastodong compatibility considerations.

Madison (or maybe biggusdiccus) was asking me earlier about why we don't just use our own incompatible protocol for darkfedi only instances and I answered "Our users like to see and make fun of the mastodong instances even if they have us blocked" - although a simplified protocol that suits our needs would make maintenance a lot easier.

The funny thing about the pleroma database is how it counts total posts made. Do edits count towards the total instance posts? Does the counter shrink when users delete their posts or their accounts with their posts? These are all questions I cannot be bothered to answer because I am too busy sewing my seed.
