I have a theory on why antisemitism is off the charts everywhere all at once. It’s a deliberate op by the US govt to soften the ground for a decoupling from Israel. There’s a much higher political price to pay from decoupling if affinity for the ally is strong. But spend a few years breeding apathy and hatred in the mainstream and…presto! You can cut the cord with much less political blowback.

Not making a judgement on the decision to do this. Decoupling might be for the best. Just observing.

IMO probably other way: Israel sees the writing on the wall re US ability to maintain support, and wants to control the decoupling. To split off, they need more warm bodies, so making Jews unsafe where they're living is a cheap way to increase high value population fast.

Second thing: Jewish orgs are very unprepared for a post-mass-media world. ADL can't just call CBS news and say "what are you doing?" anymore, now it's 200 million people all tweeting at each other and coverup becomes increasingly impossible. Orgs have not adapted to a world where they need to pressure Jews to avoid doing scandalous things, rather than trying to suppress scandal after the fact.

Third thing: Islam growth in the west, nothing else to say here.

Fourth: Difficult to avoid in-group preference from spilling over into izzat. For example: Don't say bad things about Jews is normal in-group preference. Resist attempts to bring child molesters to justice b/c they're Jews is izzat. Izzat is ruinous to group reputation and is probably one of the biggest predictors of pogroms.

@cjd

Interestingly your last 3 points betray the logic of your first one.

The data that forms the premise of my hypothesis is the direct relationship between the thought leaders of hostility toward Israel and Jews on both the left and the right, and Five Eyes intel agencies.

Columbia's Mahmoud Khalil is directly connected to British intel. He has a clearance for christ's sake.

The right is no different. Tucker is Mockingbird all day long. more....

@cjd

"Right wing" neo-Nazis marching on a bridge in FL turn out to be AZOV battalion. How did they waltz into the US, find themselves on a bridge attacking Jews, and the slip right back to Ukraine without help from CIA or similar?

There's a pattern here and it all stems from the government. Coincidentally a government that is going broke and wanting to untangle from historic conflicts that only serve to drain our blood and treasure.

On a macro level it makes sense.

Telling question IMO: Is there an actual power-struggle going on between factions like Tucker Carlson et all, and others, or is it all theater.

Possible scenario: Elon is backing a faction to do a soft coup against the establishment because he is new money and would prefer a shakeout so he can project power without getting cockblocked by entrenched interests.

@cjd It's a good question. There is a lot of theater and over-lapping interests to be sure.

I suspect Tucker is motivated in two ways. 1) He is tasked with splitting MAGA. He so rich already that he doesn't need the Qatari money he's getting. So his motivation is an op. 2) Widening the rift between the US and Israel to soften the ground for inevitable decoupling.
