@cjd I was unaware when I enlisted. It was only after I ETS'ed that I began to learn about the reality of the situation, although the seeds were sown when I saw who our "enemies" were in Afghanistan and started questioning our purpose there.

But you probably enlisted before the GWOT, because that was really the mask-off moment for the empire.

I mean I CAN because up to that point I was a product of public schooling and state university education, but I could have been doing my own research.
