HIT THE PROP
HIT THE PROP
A prop strike is a prop strike, the protocol is the same no matter what actually happened - it's usually a gearbox teardown and the prop has to go out to a prop shop to be re-certified.

@CliffSecord If you were trying to cause massive trouble for a parked plane with hand equipment only, what's the strategy? Grab each prop with a pair of pliers and bend one of the tips?

Make a couple chops in whichever blades you can reach. Best case they spin up and destroy themselves. Worst case the pilot catches it on a walk down and the plane is still down for an inspection and refit. They probably don't have extra C-130 prop blades just lying around.

Oh yeah, if you can throw the balance good enough that it will actually self destruct - without being noticeable in the walk around, that's the most destruction imaginable.
But this guy's already on video so whatever he does is at best triggering of repair operations because it's highly doubtful he's gonna slip anything past them. But yeah, my instinct is props are such a horrific pain in the ass to replace that the thing's gonna be down for weeks at least.
If you're not being watched, some pebbles in the air intake is probably ruinous for the engines...

A handful of screws past the vanes in a jet engine will catastrophically destroy it.
