This is something I think a lot of Americans don't understand about Europe.
In the US - particularly east coast - there's MONTHS of miserably hot weather, like weather that will kill you if you stay out in it too long.
In a large portion of Western Europe, there's probably about 2 or 3 heat waves spread across the summer, and the rest of the summer is quite cool, like cool enough that if you have an AC, you don't run it anyway... So people are lazy and they're like "oh I don't REALLY need that"

@cjd @TrueMasterCole the American south has the climate of north africa so duh
@cjd @TrueMasterCole euros crying on the internet because it's been hot for 3 days in a row is what causes this more than anything
@teto @cjd @TrueMasterCole The southwest is more like north Africa and the south like southern China/northern Indochina
@teto @cjd @TrueMasterCole I dont even live in the souf and its like 90 or more course that's the heat wave my chiggies were panting
I've never been to The South. The only thing I know about it is what I learned from The First Transgender Wrestler, the late great Andy Kauffman.
@domino @TrueMasterCole @cjd in any case the "wet bulb" temperature is key here. It's when your sweat stops evaporating due to humidity, basically giving you a heatstroke. Humidity is the killer. And yeah, US looks more humid than north africa here https://zoom.earth/maps/temperature-wet-bulb/
@teto @domino @cjd @TrueMasterCole This image was three years ago. You see that dark patch on the state that looks like a boot yeah I'm from there.
> and this is just the beginning

@LordMordred @teto @domino @cjd @TrueMasterCole Meanwhile, that's mild summer temps for that part of the country... Lets see how many more die than a normal year now that they've been injected with the jewish clotshots..

@HonkHonkBoom @domino @cjd @LordMordred @TrueMasterCole Gamergate and COVID. The iconic duo of out of place topics that always show up in right wing communities unprompted
@teto @domino @cjd @LordMordred @TrueMasterCole i mean, when something that starts killing a lot of people out of nowhere and we're told that it's always been that way, it's the mad science shots, almost every time.
@HonkHonkBoom @domino @cjd @LordMordred @TrueMasterCole COVID could've been prevented... If only ethics in journalism hadn't been compromised in 2015!
@teto @domino @cjd @LordMordred @TrueMasterCole That make take some thinkin to connect the two, but there is almost surely a thread somewhere to be found...
@teto @domino @cjd @TrueMasterCole we've recorded a heat index of 149F/65C and a dew point of 90F/32C, and not in the south, it was in Wisconsin.
why? corn sweat. we've planted more corn than most European countries have total land mass.
