@dielan I'll have to check out Stoat. I didn't know it had come so far
@nsoddity stoat might be cooked actually. Looks like their main instance had it's db fall over due to a sign-up flood, so if you sign up you might not get the email lol
Also, their social media presence is only on Bluesky and they rarely post. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot.
I was checking out valour.gg tonight and I like what I see, might be a better fit. Similar pros and cons as stoat

@dielan @nsoddity i'm surprised ya didn't mention delta chat as it boasts to be built on existing technology and internet standars mainly email, the way it works is that each instance is in essence an email server, every account is an email address in one of those servers and the chats are encrypted emails
