So if the AI bubble bursts there will be a shitload of GPUs and memory consumers can buy cheaply to run better local AI models?

@troed maybe, probably not. Some of these GPUs are meant to be in specific server designs so they don't even have fans/heatsinks attached

@mischievoustomato @troed yeah you can't use ECC memory in most consumer motherboards so that's one problem
however there's a growing community of people with the skills to desolder these chips (memory, GPUs, etc) and put them onto hardware that will be compatible with your computers. So we might see some companies grow to fill that void where they are selling you hardware that has essentially been remanufactured
