but "men" / "man" is a social construct. e.g., Aren't females included among your fellow "countrymen"? The term "man" does not exclusively mean "biological male" which is hard for people to accept when they don't know any better. So this is a strange example to use. I agree that it's unusual that this conversation to even be happening between commanders and troops.
