too bad, too, because nostr actually has some features that are good.. anti-censorship features that are sadly lacking on mastodon.
TBH, xmpp is 20 something years old now and really was a nice, complete, protocol with nice features but utterly forgotten on the dustbin because people like the bird site or simply don't know any better and are too lazy/stupid to learn a new thing.
@feld Mastodon is really just enshittification-lite in my opinion. Microblogging is an absurd fiction. Mastodon is nothing but a chat client, in the end. Twitter swung evolution in this direction, masto cloned it, but I think it's all but a dead end. Telegram, if TG were designed by idiots.
