The problem with listening to people who identify as experts, scientists, engineers and teachers, is that people who have political ambitions (politicians) will then simply identify as experts, scientists, engineers and teachers.

@cjd every parent and teacher I talk to IRL reports that kids are still suffering greatly from 2020/21 when we let "scientists, experts, and teachers" decide things. I'm in a big city where to not be "covid cautious" was to be a near total paraih. The parents themselves are already calling kids who aren't even in HS a "lost generation".
This is all to say that the "experts" have a lot of things to work on before we start handing them more power again.
