@coolboymew @graf The way I see it, if the company sucks (Ubisoft, etc.) then it's not so bad to raise the black flag, but if you pirate when a company's trying to do things the right way or it's some indie dev's passion project, you're a scumbag.

Honestly if someone told me they pirated Stardew Valley, I'd probably stop talking to them for a while, for instance.
@graf If a game is worth my time, it's worth my money. Obviously, there are certain objectively evil games like Baldur's Gate 3 that might still be worth playing due to being reasonably well-made, in which case piracy is the only moral option, but even then I question whether you should spend 50-100 hours engrossing yourself in a world created by your Enemies, even if you're not giving them money.
@graf "Erm, pirating Forspoken didn't make le funny negro game good??? How could this happen???" :blobnerd:

Yeah no dip. At least some indies carry the torch of good gameplay as first concern.
Do wish there were more tools for proper autists to make more ambitious games with small teams/costs. Don't trust AI but we'll see, if it just increases slop x100 with no increase in quality offerings.
