Oh, for those playing along at home, it's a 1.8Ghz DP PCI-X G5. This one has 4GB of memory, half of the reported maximum, and a GeForce FX 5200 (8x AGP Pro) Pretty sweet! Looks like it's about twice the speed of my 2x1Ghz G4, which checks out.

I've bought the smallest possible laptop one can buy these days but nah they don't make anything with an internal zipper pocket for your laptop apparently

and I have a nice laptop sleeve but it's for like, going in a backpack, not for actually taking my laptop with me on the train or whatever for the day

one does not commute with a backpack

why is "handbag with provision for laptop" such a problem to find??

@georgia I was under the impression that there are some caveats that are pretty fundamental to the platform but I haven't seriously looked into it since around the M2 era

I have some weird linux RISC apple machines and I would not want that for a daily driver

Using old mesa, I have (some) OpenGL working on the G5! It's hardly the slowest I've ever seen it, too.
