Americans should really pick up on the word zaibatsu, its very applicable in our daily lives.

@prettygood i don't really know which US companies would be zaibatsus. amazon has retail and compute as two pretty unrelated areas, what else is there?

@lain EssilorLuxottica comes to mind, though they aren't an American *company* obviously still affected. Tempur Sealy as well. Mars, again, not American, but very vertical.
