@alexia @arcanechat @delta i was really promoting delta because it seemed like such a nice project, but if they're going to accept genai in any capacity, be it code, assets, video or whatever else, i do not feel comfortable endorsing it anymore
both because of the many many arguments against it (ethical, political, social, environmental, ...) and because i want to stand in solidarity with all affected professions
this technology is not acceptable in any way and none of us should be endorsing its use or endorsing projects which endorse its use
i am so fed up with this shit

@syveria guys, stop wasting energy, ArcaneChat is a single-person side project, if you don't like it, use Delta Chat that is the official client maintained by a community of people, or whatever other thing you like, stop crying about other people using AI, and respect other people's decisions you can't impose your mentality into everyone, and I was not even so much into AI but your shitty way of talking shit behind people's back and drama-seeking made me actually want

@arcanechat@fosstodon.org @lumi@snug.moe even though I see "use something else if you dont like it" as a way to shut down and undermine the other side, it's not just that, other commenters are concerned because the usage of these things directly harm others, not just you, so I think you should hear them out
If you view all this solely as a "waste of energy" and not something to learn from or fight your own defense with then you're not gonna get much out of it

that is not the intention, the situation is similar to this: someone is open to share their favorite food with you if you want, but animals were killed to make it, then you want that person to modify their way of cooking and diet so it fits your morals, and they told you, you have to go eat elsewhere because that is what they have to offer, don't abuse the kindness
and notice that, to continue with the analogy:
you actually have a lot of other places to eat what you want, but then you are obsessed with trying to force that person into changing their diet so you can eat their food, instead of just going to the other very similar places where the food you want is already offered
all this while: you never helped cooking, you never gave a single cent to buy ingredients, the cook is working as a slave for people in their free time

@syveria @lumi @arcanechat lots of people out there expressing "thoughts" they haven't put any effort into really thinking deeply about, they just think it's cool to have the same opinion of people they admire or respect
@arcanechat @syveria @lumi I liken social media to being at the pub, just with more obnoxious strangers than usual. People are talking shit, spreading rumors, not putting a lot of thought into anything they're saying or doing.
