39Tyler literally yelled "gas is so expensive thanks to big orange faggot" when we pulled in
she's gonna regret that she didn't listen to me, but that's normal.
yes, cuz i wanna make my mom not talk to me for a week.
I got a gas station breakfast sandwich, was good. They make them fresh. I just had to wait behind some hobo mechanics
We have a little gas station by our house with a kitchen off the back and they make food and sell it. Cute young girls work there too. I'm telling you boys, come to the country! I was admiring how clean everything was. I've only stopped in once since moving here and this was my first time loitering in daylight
i live in the country already.
Are the girls white and cute
some of 'em are
don't matter, i aint' tryingt og et a girl, i'm trying to get a house.
I'm going to start my tomato seeds in the greenhouse when I get back from the valley. I got roma and cherry. I want to can some sauce again this summer
tomatoes are easy long as the seeds sprout.
Yeah I had a freaking tomato jungle a few years ago. I had like 15 romas and struggled pruning so they just went wild 😜
me too while i was still at grandpas
Looks fantastic!!! I originally wasn't going to do any veggies and just focus on long term garden infrastructure, but I mean... Just some tomatoes.... And cucumber... And all my herbs. They can't hurt! I'm going to try to grow my lavender from seeds. I know it can be difficult, I chatted with a lavender farm in WA about growing lavender and idk if they were trying to scare me and make my buy their starts. But I guess it can be difficult to grow from seed. But we will see how it goes. I got a variety that'll grow well in my climate and read through a bunch of reviews and advice. So hopefully they turn out nice 🙏
My lavender seed that I harvested from an older plant sprouts okay. I have two seedlings that are growing right now.
I've been meaning to reach out about flowers. I want to have a flower garden and for some reason I thought you might be the person to talk to
for sure! always happy to help whenever 😊
i planted all this garlic at my grandpa's house before i had to leave, i wasn't expecting to have to leave, so i had ot leave it in the ground lol, i planted it the fall before i left, it was starting to grow pretty tall when i left.
I plant garlic when I plant spring bulbs.
I have a few poking up now, it will be interesting to see how well it grow here in sandy soil, my last place had rock hard clay soil
I was thinking of doing a cover crop of legumes with diakon radish on my garden beds... Diakon are supposed to help breakup clay soils.....? Ever heard of that
mulching is huge for clay soil so it doesn't dry out too fast, cover crop and then leave it for mulch
what really helps clay is adding organic matter like straw and grass clippings and tilling it in.
What I want to do for the garden this year is do a cover crop and then till it under and probably plant one in fall and then leave that for the spring to start planting in the soil
clover is good for that since it nitrogenates the ground, adding one of the most improtant plant fertilizers, i have bags of nitrogen pellts and potassium pellets and phosphate pellets that i sprinkle on my ground when i got stuff in the ground to grow i like getting it seperate cuz some plants need more of one thing less of another.
Tyler cleared out the garden and dug down with the tractor to remove most of the clay layer then added some top soil and compost but I want to do the cover crops before I start planting so that it has a better chance. The clay gets so freaking hard
indiana is practically all clay loam, so it's not pure clay and it's not particularly hard, but i still drop a bag of gypsum on my garden spot before i till
I'll look into gypsum, thank you
cuz it willc hange the ph, tho tomatoes like more acidic soil anyways, you can add coffee grounds to your tomatoes soil tog ive 'em a boost.
I got a moisture and ph tester on the way
some people give me shit but i like getting tomato spikes they're slow release fertilizsers for tomatoes they really do help like these plants need certain minerals to thrive well so it just makes sense to give 'em it.
beans also nitrogenate the ground, they're really good to grow near corn and other nitrogen hungry crops.
either way you got me talking about stuff i'm autistic about, i'm sure you guys know plenty about it and i'm annoying.
No I'm having fun. I love yapping with you ![]()
i was thinking about ways to grow things that compliment each other which is a wells tudied and understood topic, so i did research, there's a lot of natural ways to get shit to do well that actualyl work, as much as i mostly like growing vegetables there are flowers that have a purpose in a garden, i grew some herbs that i wasn't gonna use simply becuase they're pest repellant, like oregano.
Yeah I've been researching Tree Guilds for my orchard rows. I want to plant companions around the base. Like marigolds, Rosemary, lavender, comfrey, I'm still in the planning stage of that. But I have marigold, Rosemary, and lavender seeds on the way
