but jokes aside. i don't get why projects like systemd and the likes are not more opposed to the age verification shit going on rn and doesn't fight it on all fronts. i never really liked systemd, but even this is disappointing
imagine this being suddenly enforced and you have to set a birthdate for your servers
yes i'm being silly here. but so is it silly to have such user information stored inside of an init system tbh
apparently that field is optional, just like the address and phone field when you create new user
but still, slop is slop
its the rest of the proposals that are overt surveillance capitalism and they need significantly more stop energy to deal with

@puniko There is already a *location* field in systemd, I don't understand why all you are concerned about the birthDate, it's all about how the os will use those fields and if it wants to apply to California/Brazil laws or not
So my question is: why the location field is not a problem?
