Hey @silverpill would it be possible to make the "repost" feature on the main posts? Instead of going into the post and then hitting the three dots and tapping on repost.

7@jody_racer How it should work? A popup window?
@silverpill Kind of like on the OG mastodon software, where you click on the reshare button and it pops up if you want to reshare or quote?? Does that makes sense?
I just think right now its more work to go into the post and then click on the three dots.
@jody_racer No, I mean what should happen when you click on "Repost with comment" button.
@silverpill no I mean click on the reshare button in my screenshot and then have it pop up and have us choose to reshare or quote. That's all. It might be too much to do though on your end.
@jody_racer This is not going to happen, the button will stay in the menu. But I may consider allowing quote posting from the home timeline.
@icedquinn @jody_racer A dedicated button for quoting is also an option.
I just don't want to do this thing with drop down, it's horrible UX. I remember wasting a lot of time trying to find a button for quote posting in Soapbox. Somehow Mastodon made the same mistake (or maybe they both copied it from Twitter? Idk)

6@silverpill @icedquinn @jody_racer There have been few users requesting the same in Pleroma, and I don't get it. Either have it as a reply option, or a dedicated button. A quote and repeat aren't even remotely close in purpose imo.
@Ree @icedquinn @silverpill @jody_racer There are groups on here. Pleroma has an auto repeater and Mitra and few others have better groups that aren't a spamfest (they also support private groups which is beyond dumb in a social media context, but that is besides the point)
@grips @icedquinn @silverpill @jody_racer Makes sense if that is true. Gargron desperately wants Mastodon to be a Twitter clone with very similar (bad) UX.
