Who we build communities with is the most important choice we possibly can make. Because it will reflect in what we build.

Explicitly wanting Nazis to have hosting and subscription options though is ... well ... actually quite on brand. "For any purpose", after all. Ethics have explicitly nothing to do with it.

@genmaicha sqlite has the Rule of St. Benedict as its code of conduct because they were being threatened with losing contracting by not having a code of conduct. a small number of people got really upset over this because they don't consider an ancient, enduring and beloved christian code of conduct counts

@sun @genmaicha "Ethical" licenses that ban use of the software for "hateful purposes" are the gateway to a social credit system. Republicans, libertarians, Christians, fossil fuel companies, pro-life pregnancy centers and more could be locked out of all computer software if "ethical" licensing takes off.

The one man who stands in the way of this happening is RMS, because once the wokeists succeed at getting rid of RMS (or when RMS dies) they can forcibly upgrade most GPL software to "Ethical Source GPLv4" and create their social credit system.
