@RustyCrab the neo-luddites (the people against AI) probably won't either because they lack the one thing industry of old and tech of new has: state support
@sam the reaction has also been pretty funny. There hasnt been much coordinated movement against it. They're just sticking their head in the sand and pretending it doesn't exist. Ive seen the more reasonable people coming around lately though.
@RustyCrab @sam
ai isnt going away tbh, though the people relying on it for 100% of what they do might be in for hell the next few yeard

@theorytoe @sam democrats are set to sweep the house and the senate in 26. They'll start pushing through a lot of legislation to require licenses for it or to kneecap production. Some of it may or may not get through. They take the presidency in 28 and at that point it'll be broadly banned outside of enterprise licenses. Rest of the world may still have access.
My advice is to move

@RustyCrab @theorytoe @sam Why can't some of you oppose a political movement without making the most batshit obviously_never_gonna_happen predictions possible?
Democrats are not going to destroy a booming industry, akshually. Just because the lefty niggercattle hate AI doesnt mean the actual professional governers are going to destroy an entire economic sector within a few years for shits and giggles.
Lately the Dem strategy has been moderation, they dont even promote culture war stuff anymore. They will probably regulate the AI companies but try to keep them competitive against the 2nd and 3rd world. OpenAI has deals with Disney and all sorts of industries, their donors are not even going to let candidates through the who have any chance of neutering it.

>Democrats are not going to destroy a booming industry
I didn't say they would i said they're going to take it out of the hands of the public. Big industries will toss their trillions of dollars around like nothing happened
>Lately the Dem strategy has just been moderation
They've been electing socialists right and left. They openly say theyre going to throw open the border again. Whats the use for AI when you have infinite slave labor?

i mean the dems are really set on regulating everything to death based on "muh safety" (which is a lie) because dems drool over the eu's retardation

@theorytoe @RustyCrab @AngelCelt
The EU loves to regulate but regularly forgets they need to enforce their regulations otherwise it's just a bunch of words

@sam @theorytoe @RustyCrab @AngelCelt They enforce the regulations only when they can siphon large sums out of money from companies into their own pockets.
