not a sword, but I am excited to finally receive my lead loaded shillelagh fighting stick from Ireland. It is basically a walking stick made from blackthorn wood that was seasoned over a chimney for 3 years to harden, and its knob hollowed out to pour molten lead in it to make the end more devastating to strike someone with.

@vitalis Good-looking stick. Blackthorn usually is. Never knew they were sometimes loaded with lead. I'm guess that would seal your case if you were accused of carrying it as a weapon? Or that was probably a given anyway...
fortunately I live in a state where it would be legal for me to carry and use this in self defense so it being lead loaded makes no difference. I would love to bring it with me on outdoor hiking trips in other countries but not sure if that would be a good idea..
the shillelagh I have weighs about .5 kg or 1 lb
I had some friends that were into wrestling, they put on a show and one of the bits was hitting someone with a bamboo cane. No one knew it had a lead core. Guy that took the hit went down without acting.
hope the guy was okay! having lead makes it quite capable of splitting someones head open
This was just a cane, he managed to get back up after a minute.
