@yohan to the answer of why a perfect God would create a universe outside Himself (but really within and permeated by Himself), He creates and destroys the universe in cycles and does it out of pure lila, that is, spontaneous play, like someone who gets out of bed full of energy and dances out of joy derived from ones own being. in mystical thought, the beings beside Himself are playmates for Himself, defined by being limited by maya, which He is free of naturally. reincarnation and karma and maya likewise explain the problem of evil. God is free of maya, the jivas before liberation are not, so they are prone to sin in accordance with their samskaras, and suffer in accordance with their karma. the property of free will also plays a role imo, but such a thing is not well understood in existing schools of hindu thought.
