Whenever Europeans ask why Americans don't take public transport, it's like asking why The Emperor's New Suit never gets dirty.
Everybody knows the answer to that question, but nobody is allowed to say it.

@cjd@pkteerium.xyz Because the public transport in the Us is terribe and their urban planning is done by a retarded todler
But why is it terrible?
Who made public transport terrible?
Who made public transport terrible?
@cjd @xaetacore Public transport is amazing, trains will get you places faster and more comfortably than cars ever can. Instead of having the courage to address the nigger problem everyone just switched to cars and created a traffic hellscape.
Public transportation should be the only transportation allowed in society, and if you don't like it change the racial composition.

I live in France, currently a rural area which is 95% white.
Even in Paris though, there is no issue with non-whites that makes public transport BAD. They're polite, quite, etc. French govt does not tolerate animalistic behavior from anyone.
Suffice to say, I'm pretty experienced with public transport - and I still prefer taking the car.
1. No waiting
2. It's not crowded
3. It's never delayed because of some technical problem
4. It goes straight to where I want to be
There's no change of racial composition that will really fix these issues. I think public transport ought to exist as an option, but in any society there are good reasons not to want that option.

@cjd @xaetacore All of your points are purely a policy problem, rail transports cargo faster and cheaper (=less crowded) than road. Secondary transportation like tram can get you to your final destination. Wait times no longer than 5 mins if you do it right.
You can't complain about the crowding and not shitskinning in the same breath, they're the same thing.

I don't think all of the points were purely a policy problem, unless you're one of those neoliberals that thinks everyone should live in crowded cities.

@Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore @cjd No I don't think so, but rural places can have trains too if there's incentive to build them. If anything a lack of trains is the reason why more people don't live in the countryside.
So a train station every 500-1000 feet is your ideal world?
@Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore @cjd Not every 1000 feet since that's not how villages are spaced, but a train station in every village and the entire village within walking distance of it, that would be the ideal world.
1000 feet is pretty much an optimal walking range, any further and it is going to get really hard on the eldery and infirm. This isn't even touching on emergency services, not just medical but fire and police too.
Likewise not everyone lives in or near a village. Rural can have a lot of meanings, my nearest neighbor is about 600 feet away, but there is a small farming community about 1000 feet the opposite direction and several miles away from the nearest proper town.
I've seen homes separated from each other by five or more miles in some areas.
I am not against mass transit in a homogenous society, persay, but complete elimination of the alternative seems a bit much. But at least your response isn't the reddit tier answer of "well all those farmers should live in cities, farming is bad for the environment anyway!"

@Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore @cjd If you live countryside I'd say about 1km is the ideal walking distance, walking is healthy for mind and body.
I'm not for eliminating cars completely, but they should be phased out as much as possible, especially in intercity travel. They're just an inefficient crutch to avoid facing the actual problems of society.

You want to get rid of your car...
I also want to get rid of my car...
We are not the same 😏

@cjd @Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore It's funny how sci-fi authors believed flying cars would solve traffic jams when in reality they'd create a traffic nightmare.
Well, with that electric sky-uber thing, I guess we're gonna find out.
But me I'd rather live further away from the Heckin Dynamic City. And it's not really about race, I just prefer quiet, nature, open space, etc

Same, I am definitely more of a loner and even when surrounded by other White people there's only so much I can tolerate. I cuss at my fellow rednecks for reving the engines and "yeehawing" on my road. Loud ass niggers never stood a chance.
I figured you were being hyperbolic.
@Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore @cjd I'm not hyperbolic at all, you need at least 10k steps a day to stay healthy, that's about 8km. Having a nice walking distance from your home to the station goes a good way towards that (heh).
Public transport and walking, not cars and obesity, is the ideal society.

The Amish don't have cars because it's considered that they will take them too far away from their community, so in the right environment I suppose this is realistic.
If everything you need is actually walking distance, a car is optional.
But such a configuration requires a lot of trust in the governing institution, and I'd trust the "15 minute city" people like I trust an email from Nigeria.

@cjd @Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore The Amish have got it right, that's why they reproduce while the rest of White America is dying off.
In the back of my head, I'm computing what it would take to do a remote settlement like in Alaska or even in glacial territory.
The point is if Hard Time Make Strong Men - why not just raise the bar ON YOURSELF and then overcome and thrive?

Still a lot of big challenges. One of the biggest is energy, if you have "shitloads" of it then every problem is a small problem. If it's tight then everything is difficult...

No, earlier you said you wanted to remove cars completely.
Though again, this isn't taking into consideration the infirm who aren't physically capable of long treks. Or people's schedules. 4 mile walks to a train to take you to work especially if you work 12 hour shifts or God forbid rotating ones (should be illegal) is adding a lot of time to how long it takes you to get to these places. Also isn't factoring in weather or dangerous terrain.

@Deplorable_Degenerate @xaetacore @cjd No, that was hyperbole. Ofc cars will be always be needed for remote areas, but this kind of "I insulate myself so I don't have to deal with the shittification of society" thinking needs to be banned. We are one people, we travel together, we dine together, we all prosper or all perish. Rich and poor ought to eat from the same trough, and if they don't like it fix the trough.
Something that could be interesting is living in an "intentional community" that is only accessible via boat - or plane, because it has largely the impact of what the Amish do with forbidding cars.
Everybody has to make sure they have everything they need in their local community because leaving is complex. Perhaps there are one or two boats operated by members for the benefit of the community.
An additional benefit of this is where there are no roads, unwanteds will have no way of reaching you. Private boat operators, private docks, entrance by permission only...
