I thought it was a Stefan Molyneux post for a moment. Someone hurt Sam. If only it were possible to narrow it down to one or two people. ![]()

3or he is just right
Sam has no children and has no clue or business talking about it. Perhaps someone beat the fuck out of him for no reason (it happens) but spanking is just another language to get a point accross.
Anyone who has had young children knows it is nearly impossible to 'reason' with them at times, and restraint does not fix the problem, and that's not what the Bible says to do anyway.
Proverbs 23:12
Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
Proverbs 23:13
Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Proverbs 23:14
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

I will see how I will handle my kids, but I've noticed this too. Sam is trying to act like a guru, even on matters that he really has no place to comment on. That said... I don't really remember being spanked as a kid, for that matter, same with my siblings.
I think the idea that you can reason with a toddler like it's an adult is stupid (common mistake people make these days), but there is also a difference between light slaps to straighten a kid under the age of five out, and outright physical and emotional abuse that I've seen leveled against kids over the age of 10.

2It's like everyone forgot that in the late 90s early 00s America tried "no cry parenting" or whatever the hell it was called and it ended up disastrous with a ton of kids on meth.
and ironically, no reduction in crying
