To a point, yes, Christianity did very much adapt itself to European thought. However, Europe is not the only place where the religion was brought, and each culture adapted it to their own worldview. Take Santeria, for example, or Nigerian Christianity.

Parliaments, due process, rule of law, etc, is hardly Christian in origin and can be traced back to several cultures in europe including Rome and the Vikings. These concepts have had far more influence on our evolution than Christianity imo. People often mistakenly conclude they originate from Christianity, which simply isn't true.
