I genuinely do not care if people use AI to make "art" but calling yourself an artist when you're typing prompts into a box is a bit of a stretch. No, adding a LoRA from HuggingFace doesn't make you an engineer either. Niggas.

You clown.
The difference is the level of human input. It takes NO skill to write a prompt for two hours. It takes observation, timing, attention to detail, and dedication to capture good photographs. These skills are even MORE important in creating art by hand, in addition to good hand-eye coordination and understanding of artistic principal.
A.I produces NONE of that. It takes data from millions of REAL artists and spits out a Frankenstein image the "based proompter" could NEVER actually produce, because his brain cells are so decimated that he needs a machine to think and produce FOR him.

the few actual ones do put all that effort into AI art, but most do not at all.
There are people who look for references, observe the effects and reprompt, etc. and take the same care as a good photographer would. And they retouch it after, too.
Is it art in practice? No.
Could it be art in principle? Sure.
