@WandererUber i really wonder why there's no real competition to nexus. it really is a bad website.
They have the integration with the mod tools, and are likely funded through the usual characters. You and i both know that serving many tb a day can get very expensive.
@tyler @lain @WandererUber their integration is ass because I need to create an account and then still have to do half the stuff manually
Omod?
@ergo @lain @tyler @WandererUber That mod is an absolute abortion to set up. You literally have to have Steam in the program files folder, which is questionable for gaming, and they'll ACTIVELY ignore any questions you ask about the problem because they assume you pirated the game. I fucking hate nerds.
@WandererUber @Nesano @tyler @ergo I think mods are mostly made by the heavily antisocial autist crowd, as are free software and speed running.
@WandererUber @Nesano @tyler @ergo anyway here’s the documentary https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q6OqJOSmDrY
@lain @tyler @ergo @WandererUber Wait what? This video about the unofficial Skyrim patch is THAT relevant to this?
@Nesano @lain @tyler @ergo it was quite the video, but no, not really. It deals mostly with "this modder bad"
I care very little about the IP issues that the modder in question cries about. If it were up to me, I would force mod authors to release under an open source license and allow derivative works of their art assets in exchange for allowing them to modify game assets.
In any case, the fact that this patch even exists at all should be a point of great embarrassment for Bethesda, but nothing ever is.
