I think the Iranians will allow the Americans to do a ground invasion because it gives them an excuse to use their infantry and they can impose a lot more pain that way.

For them, 1000 dead Iranian soldiers are war heroes, and their names are a rallying cry to fight harder. Nobody fights as hard as someone being invaded.

For the US, 1000 dead Americans is just PAIN, and a rallying cry to impeach Trump, strip him of his assets, and throw him in prison.
