@RustyCrab there are multiple mechanical and cognitive benefits to caring about handwriting. Faster hand writing, better dexterity, mental clarity, etcetera.
@f0x working on paper is good but I'm not convinced cursive brings enough benefit to keep up the time sink of maintaining it
@RustyCrab @f0x it's not important that you keep doing it as an adult, though it wouldn't hurt. it's important that children do it, or some equivalent replacement, and what's never implemented when this stuff is abandoned is the replacement
traditional curriculum keeps getting thrown out as outdated and useless and what are they doing with that time instead? they park kids in front of tablets so the teacher can fuck off on reddit, and then everyone is shocked that the next crop of adults is weak, uncoordinated, can't focus on anything, can't read a damn clock, doesn't know what anything is
