Dexter's Law: Only proprietary software vendors want proprietary software and only fascists want fascism. Toots are my own. Self-employed. Father of three.

I aim to keep this to technical topics relating to bhyve and OpenZFS, and the occasional humor and Latvia.

@feld @tinker @neptune22222 @stefano @rl_dane On this topic: https://www.fsf.org/blogs/rms/selling-exceptions

“Selling exceptions means that the copyright holder of the code releases it to the public under a free software license, then lets customers pay for permission to use the same code under different terms, for instance allowing its inclusion in proprietary applications.”

It’s good to see that the FSF does not, according to this, sell exceptions. Doing so would truly rip my brain in half.

Does any one have sample/example exception sale agreements?

Might you know what #FreeBSD kernel module, if one exists, will allow a USB connection to the mini USB console port on a Cisco 2960-X switch? None of the answers I found worked and I went and far as trying, ‘kldload /boot/kernel/u*’ without luck after trying several suggested ones.
