Another example is, realizing a message is from someone who wants to attack you, drag you into an argument or hellthread.
There is a big difference is the emotional impact of processing intent, or digesting the whole message.
Personally, I just don't like to feeling of being forced to think something, so I value being able to not process text or audible voices at will.

Funny, but real. By pure chance I bumped into one of my childhood crushes the other day and it turns out I'm still smitten.
I did, many times from Kindergarten all the way to high school. She thought of me as a gnat and I'm sure she still does.
