so on the other side they can subsidize diesel for farmers who struggle. but only if you fill out 53 pages of forms. then the EU turns around and says that nobody is using the subsidies. sad noises.

@kaia the whole way EU agriculture is run is completely insane

Isn't that only up to a point to create more buffer zones for their strained ecosystems?
If they wouldn't subsidize this, it'd be tragedy of the commons where no farmer would reserve space for beneficial insects and so on
