@SuperDicq discord is also part of the propaganda because one of the reasons it got popular was that it didn't spread your IP (except for the times that it did)

Also Discord always knows your IP because that's how to connect to it?

@SuperDicq @Jes teamspeak can expose your ip to other clients in a couple different ways if not properly configured, this is probably what they are thinking of. fear of this tracks back to before windows computers had integrated firewall. in the 1990s I worked for a government infrastructure program and every pc with internet was a windows box with a publicly routable ip and no firewall at all.

@sun @SuperDicq video sharing does by default use P2P and it seems like they're working on a way to do it server side
But at the same time though, you will leak your IP to ever server you visit, the server admins will see it
