It's very possible that the original claim about the legos isn't true, it could be a complicated legal issue that the original people don't fully understand or they are misrepresenting the agreement, but the guy is on video saying if he's sued (which is the perfect, appropriate way of resolving this) that he'll just drag it out so long that it won't be worth it anymore. So, regardless of the merits of the original claim, he himself made "doing it the right way" impossible and brought this on himself. the reckless ben guy himself did a bunch of dumb stuff, some of it illegal, which isn't okay, but that is now not the point lol

8@sun the Mormons will never let one of their own face a consequencefrom a non Mormon
@vriska mormons have very high ingroup affinity but people have been saying this but I don't even know if they're all mormons or not.
@technolyze @vriska right now the biggest hint of collusion I've heard is the airbnb owner told cops they "overheard the occupants talking about stealing legos" like, this definitely sounds like a lie, and why would they do this for people they have no connection to. unless they do have a connection!
@technolyze @vriska it's all very possible, I am just waiting for anything at all that give me a hint they're doing that, there's things I could see, even like calling each other "brother" or something.
@technolyze @vriska I did confirm that at least the owner guy is mormon and ben was playing that angle to try to get information out of him. honestly the more I see this ben guy is actually a harasser to a significant degree, he doesn't show everything on video that he does to the people. but like, the papers were real, the lawsuit was real, and the cops colluded to keep the valid papers from being served, fry them

@technolyze @vriska and to be fair, I don't think it's uncommon in any way for a person serving papers to have to try to trick the person to serve the papers. it's just, a common thing that exists
