I really think crypto MIGHT be dead/dying this time. Not sure, but things feel bad

@sun People overextended on speculative value. Although these crashes are like a yearly thing at this point.

@sun should I sell my ETH?
@kaia I'm ride or die even if I think it's dying
@SuperDicq I want that too

@sun So this is the inflection point where you wait six more months for shit to get really dire, everyone loses faith, and THEN you buy in and wait a year or two for someone or something to skyrocket it again. This would be like the fourth time this cycle has happened.
To the moon.
@sun okie, I stay in for a bit, but if it goes anywhere close where I bought it, I'll sell
@7666 my opinion is informed by everything I've been seeing in the last year, not just price fluctuation. I'm running out of things to have faith in except strictly the technology, which is great and getting better all the time; but the technology doesn't fix the social aspect
@SuperDicq @sun Bitcoin, ETH and Monero already have valid uses besides just buying drugs on Tor. It would be way easier to send lain crypto than go through a bank, because my bank doesn't like UAE still last time I checked.
@sun it's still only 50% down, needs to reach 90% first
@SuperDicq @sun
>But holy shit I hate what cryptobros have turned crypto into.
Comes with any community like this. I hate gnubros the same if not worse as cryptobros. Ignore them and most of the problems magically go away since they don't do anything actually meaningful anyway.
The difference is that crypto attracted lots of wealthy people seeking a profit, which tips the balance to the point they now have some influence.

Same with infosectards. Those are probably even more insuferable.

@phnt @SuperDicq the problem with crypto is, we won't get less sick until rats abandon the ship. but right now the small rats are abandoning ship but the large ones are joining up and launching stablecoin platforms etc. so it's getting waaay worse not better. imo
@phnt @SuperDicq so like it's not even "cryptobros" killing everything right now, they are helping, but mainly its tradfi adoption lol
@sun Now you're getting it!
@7666 I knew it, but there were other things that gave me faith, but they've been disappearing bit by bit for multiple years
@demha @phnt I think it is materially quite different but I appreciate that the result is the pretty much the same. I think a better observation is simply crypto was an experiment is no-regulation money and it pretty much plays out how you'd expect. there's a theoretical good outcome but actual humans seem to make that impossible in reality
@sun bad things are happening in the real economy. Straight of hormuz wtfery is not shaken out
