Not really all that substantial, but to be fair the researchers are not the ones claiming it's actual attractiveness, they stick to "self-perception".
I haven't looked into the research on how accurate that self-assessment of attractiveness is for men. Could be like that meme of rating the other gender, where men rate on a perfect bell curve and women's is a pareto where basically no one is a 9.

@WandererUber I haven't looked at the data, but I'd guess that men that are right wing end up either thinking they are very attractive or total incels.

@john_darksoul @sickburnbro A lot of things would make sense for one reason or another. If only White people had come up with a way to systematically prove if it's really the case, for relatively low cost per insight, I might add.
