They all look like you'd wear them well but if I had to pick with a gun to my head I'd go with #1 or #4.

@adequate @HockeyDoxie Three and two are my favorites, two mainly because I think I could wear it without a bra which is a big plus. They all have pockets and they all are made of viscose.
@adequate @HockeyDoxie I like the print on 3 better than 4 but 4 is a wrap dress which are notoriously flattering. They're having a buy one get one 50% sale so it's tempting
I don't think that 2's boobie cut is very flattering, but you're the one buying it. One is very feminine, but my overall choice is still 3. I hope you like what you end up buying and look terrific in it.

@mushroom_soup the fabric is very important. if these are polyester, I wouldn't buy any of them. it pills, holds odor, looks tacky, is made of plastic, and is a cheap goy substitute for cotton or wool. rayon, tencel, lyocell, all of which are made of plant fibers, and cotton blended with any of them, are good. silk and lightweight wool are best, but of course they cost the earth. even formerly good retailers like Banana Republic and Gap now use polyester where it would have been a real fiber before, so reading labels is as important as the fit and style. if you're chunky, it helps to dress as beautifully as possible, not in cheap things. and it's ok to work from a small closet.
@mushroom_soup I've never gotten anything that's poor quality from Boden. This dress looks like one you would reach for over and over.

@adequate @mushroom_soup I wish I hadn't checked Boden's cite bc now I want these shoes SO BAD. they are both insane, and practical, a difficult thing to pull off but so so desirable. I'm switching from black to navy in my wardrobe bc I think it's more flattering now that I am not young. would wear these shoes with this dress as Boden suggested. rn we're struggling to pay the mortgage so there will be no new clothes but I like to keep my eye out

@adequate @mushroom_soup These days it's Birkenstocks or Merrell Moab hikers every day except Sunday. I haven't worn my cowboy boots for 25 years but I'll never get rid of them. In the 90s, I wore them all the time, with jeans and dresses and even cutoffs. My overall style is subdued as well, but I like to wear insane shoes and carry insane handbags. The theory is that if it's so bright and filled with so many colors that it goes with nothing, then it becomes a neutral that goes with everything.
@LawrenceGerald @mushroom_soup I wear vibram furoshiki all winter which are crazy colorful but they are like house shoes. I wear snow boots outdoors and carry indoor shoes in a bag.

@mushroom_soup Viscose is ok, but still kind of cheap. ofc sometimes a cheap dress is just the thing one needs. in that case, I like the print and cut of #3 best. wear it with boots!
