@parker @Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @scenesbycolleen it helps to use at least one smaller pilot drill that is the size of the final drill's web, if not 2 or more steps depending on final size. as you start to exit the back side, brace the drill against your body, increase motor speed, and back off the pressure a lot. and if it does snag on exit, reverse the drill and drill backwards to try to smooth out the back side without catching. in general drilling metal by hand sucks and it's a lot better to have a drill press
@parker @scenesbycolleen Advice from an older man, start with a small 1/8" hole the gradually go bigger and bigger till you get to the sized bit you wanted it will save your bits and pain. HSS know as high speed steel are garbage and in the fuck it bucket they belong, the titanium coated ones are garbage except for soft metal like copper and aluminum. Get some decent not chinese made cobalt steel bits they will be your goto for most things unless you are drilling hardened steel plates then you need tungsten carbide and you can expect spending a small fortune for a set.
